This knife was my first purchase from this company and I’m so disappointed….THAT I DIDN’T ORDER MUCH MUCH EARLIER!! Seriously I’m not a fixed blade kinda guy, I have well over 200 folders in my collection, most in the $100 to $250 price range but some much more expensive to give you a quick glance at my experience as a collector. That being said I do actually have a dozen or so fixed blade specimens from companies like LT Write, Heretic, Microtech, Medford, Halfbreed Blades etc. THIS particular knife I would literally put BLADE to BLADE with literally any one of the others that I own! Not only the fact that Architect knives is closely affiliated with TOPS knives (another brand of which I own many) but I have been around long enough to know pretty much at the unboxing stage, whether I’m getting a gem or a pile of crap. This knife (the Field Buddy 6.5) is the perfect example of a purpose made TOOL and not just eye candy for your safe or knife case! This big boy will get it DONE. The heat treat seems to be SPOT ON. I personally LOVE me a good 1095 that’s got a great treat. There again is that TOPS influence shining through. I LOVED how this knife was shipped! I recieved a giant bubble-wrap lined envelope, that contained the blade, and every other component of this knife that I had personally chosen on the Architect website! Each exactly as I had requested, and each separately packaged. I didn’t need them, but the instructions for each step of the assembly process is clearly diagramed as well as written. It was honestly the most fun I’ve had with a knife in YEARS! Thank you so much Architect Knives! I tried to stay out of the weeds on this one guys but if you ask my for an honest review….you’ll get one! Good day to all!
