First, I love this knife. This, to me is a great, versatile tool. The 3.5 inch blade is perfect as an EDC or camp companion knife, camp task, and the full size handle makes it very comfortable to work with. I chose 10095 steel due to it’s proven record and ease of sharpening in the field. And what really attracted me to this knife was the area in the pommel that can be used for light hammering. I am always finding myself needing this feature on my knife. The kydex sheath is top notch, fit and finish are great and retention is solid, but allows for ease of draw.
A few minor gripes: Any knife with camp use or outdoor use should come with a 90 degree spine, standard. Period. Mine did not, but did come with a ferro notch. However, it was not sharp enough to strike a ferro rod effectively, so I sharpened the spine and ferro notch. No problem, but a little annoying for an almost $200 knife after the configuration I chose. I know Architect has said they are going to offer 90 degrees in the future, but its not hard to do. Belt grinder or a dremmel tool will work! My only other gripe is that when it was sent to me, it was all in pieces, not put together at all. This was a little shocking to me. I had to install the scales, the ferro rod attachment to the sheath, and also put together the many screws for the leather loop backer. Again, for close to $200, it should kinda come ready to go out of the package!
